Update: Matt Reeves has put out a statement of his own, saying he is "profoundly grateful to Steven for coming to my aid during this challenging time to help me finish principal photography". Check it out in full below.
Update 2: DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn has commented on the situation on Threads:
Matt is still the director of The Batman 2 and always will be. I can't express how profoundly grateful and moved we are by Steven's offer to help him complete his vision.
It's been almost two weeks since The Batman: Part 2 shut down so that director Matt Reeves could focus on a family matter. Unfortunately, according to Deadline, Reeves will not be able to finish production. Steven Soderbergh will step in to direct the rest of the movie.
DC Studios gave the following statement to Deadline:
“As Matt Reeves continues to attend to an ongoing family matter, Steven Soderbergh, as an admirer of Matt’s work, approached Matt and will step in, with the full support of DC Studios, to help the writer-director complete the final weeks of principal photography on The Batman Part 2. Matt and Steven will work closely together with the actors and crew to fulfill Matt’s vision of the film.”

Soderbergh also released a statement:
“I thought Matt Reeves’ work on The Batman was stunning; it was intentional, specific, and rigorously coherent. The goal here is to work with Matt and his team to generate footage that will integrate seamlessly with what’s already been shot so Matt can properly finish his film.”
Deadline reports that while Reeves is unable to be on set, he will be in communication with Soderbergh as he finishes directing The Batman: Part 2. Reeves is expected to take over post-production duties when he's able to return to work.
The Hollywood Reporter added to this story and said that The Batman: Part 2 is "about two thirds done". That would mean there are still at least two months to go.

I’m weirdly unbothered by this – and I love The Batman and The Penguin! As a Batman and DC movie fan, I’ve just been through too much to be thrown off anymore 😂 Bruce Wayne is my favorite fictional character of all time! But he gets more adaptations than any other DC character, by far. The DC movie news that could devastate me would be that the DC Universe is canceled
Arrow-2187 totally, and I just updated the article with a statement from Matt Reeves. He's on board with the whole thing so we should be in good shape
