Joe Manganiello is currently doing press to promote his new book "Bloodlines: A Memoir". In that book, he talks about a near-fatal medical condition and how Ben Affleck casting him as Deathstroke for his now canceled Batman movie gave him the motivation he needed to get his life back.
While speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Manganiello was asked if he would accept another shot at playing Deathstroke on the big screen in the rumored Bane/Deathstroke movie.
"You know I have that helmet from when I got to play him the first time sitting in my office. I look at it every day and it's the greatest achievement of my life," Manganiello said. "You know it's been to hell and back... you want a warrior? You know who call."
If you haven't already, I highly recommend checking out this article about Mangniello's tough journey to becoming Deathstroke. Would you like to see him get a proper shot at playing the character in the DCU? Let me know in the comments below.
yeah why not? Unless he plays the character we will never know if he was a good choice or not. Of course, this doesn't mean he'll get the gig
jrvc yeah I'd like to see him get it just because of the story he told in his book how he almost died and used the role as motivation. I'd like to see him get a proper shot at the role because of all that.
Great story. I love that you can embed a YouTube Short on the site so I don’t have to bother opening it on the YouTube app and dealing with all that mess. I’d love for him to get the chance to play Deathstroke in the DCU, but realistically, I’m not sure that’d happen
Arrow-2187 thanks! Yeah we'll see.
