On October 6th, it was announced that production on The Batman: Part 2 will be paused while director Matt Reeves attended to "a family matter". There's been a lot of speculation from fans online as to what that could mean for the movie, and IGN caught up with DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran for an answer.
IGN's interview with Safran touched on many different topics across DC Studios, including The Batman: Part 2. On that topic, Safran said, "everybody's aware of the issues we're having right now, but, what we've seen so far of the shoot, it looked absolutely fantastic and Matt Reeves is a supremely talented filmmaker."
At the end of the interview, IGN asked one last question about The Batman: Part 2:
IGN: I want to be very delicate about how I ask this. Is there any scenario where Batman: Part Two doesn't start filming again?
Peter Safran: No.
So there you have it. In the unfortunate event that Matt Reeves isn't able to return, someone else will be brought in to finish it. The movie has already been shooting for 4 months, with just 2 expected to go. If there are no further delays, the movie will hit theaters on February 18, 2028.

Don’t worry guys, they’ve got Joss Whedon on speed dial!
Arrow-2187 noooooooooo!
In Hollywood, we have a saying: "the show must go-on." Us showbiz folk tend to apply this notion to every aspect of our lives. Take for example that time I found myself in a heated debate with Scott Baio over which bird of flight was more badass: the Peregrine Falcon or the American Bald Eagle. I hailed the Peregrine Falcon's spectacular speed, while Scott proceeded to call me a "libtard cuck." Before long, he'd unleash a brutal barrage of blows and homophobic slurs. But our game of celebrity Double Dutch to raise money for the Boys & Girls Club of America wasn't going to Dutch itself. So I limped through the affair, even being called a "real trooper" by TV's Fran Drescher. When the lights are bright, we find a way.
