'Batman: Knightfall Part 2' trailer to premiere on Batman Day, September 19 as part of a global celebration event

Warner Bros. announced today a global "Rule the Night" event to celebrate Batman Day on Saturday, September 19th.

Perhaps the most exciting news is that the trailer for Batman: Knightfall Part 2 will premiere on Batman Day. And for those who haven't checked out Part 1 yet, the Digital version will be on sale on Batman Day.

There are a ton of activities and products available around the world to celebrate Batman Day 2026, so check out the full press release below for all the details.

Burbank, CA, September 9, 2026 — On September 19, fans around the world will celebrate Batman Day 2026, honoring one of the most iconic and beloved DC Super Heroes of all time. Batman has inspired generations of fans through comics, movies, television, animation, games and more, and, this year, DC and Warner Bros. Discovery are inviting fans to join the Dark Knight to “Rule the Night.” Whether staying up late reading a favorite Batman comic book, heading to a nighttime screening with friends or joining fellow fans online, Batman Day 2026 will offer new ways to celebrate the world of Gotham City. 

Rule The Night Around the Globe 

As part of the global celebration, fans and families are invited to Rule the Night through a mix of public and invitation-only screenings in major markets around the world, including New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Milan, Berlin, Mexico City, São Paulo, Beijing, and additional locations. Hosted at theaters, rooftop venues, outdoor destinations, and unique fan locations, the events will bring Gotham City’s legendary nights to life, making it a great way to celebrate Batman Day. 

In addition, fans can revisit some of their favorite Batman films during a limited-time theatrical re-release program starting September 18 at participating exhibitors including Regal, AMC, Cinemark, and select international partners. Batman Day at Home 

Those looking to Rule the Night from home can look to a global influencer campaign that will inspire fans to host epic Batman Day slumber parties, with creators showcasing everything needed to bring the world of Gotham City home for the night. The campaign will feature partnerships with creators Taya Miller, Ronnie Banks, The Smily Fam, and more. TBS will celebrate Batman Day with a special marathon of Batman-themed episodes of The Big Bang Theory on September 20, while TNT will present Christopher Nolan's acclaimed Dark Knight Trilogy on September 19. 

HBO Max will feature a dedicated “Celebrate Batman Day” rail on the streamer's homepage, showcasing fan-favorite Batman titles. Subscribers can explore a curated collection of iconic Batman films including Batman, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Batman, acclaimed animated series such as Batman Beyond, and more. The DC page will also spotlight Batman-focused collections and curations, giving fans even more ways to enjoy the world of the Dark Knight.  

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will release a limited-edition DC Super-Villains 4K UHD Steelbook Library case on October 27 which includes Batman (1989), Batman Returns, The Batman, along with Aquaman, The Suicide Squad, and Superman: The Movie.  The library case features Gotham City’s greatest Super-Villains such as The Joker, Catwoman, The Penguin, The Riddler, Harley Quinn, in addition to other iconic DC Super-Villains.  Look for the exclusive edition with a glow in the dark case on Amazon.  The collection will also be available digitally at participating retailers.  

To mark the celebration, the official trailer for Batman: Knightfall Part 2 will debut on Batman Day along with an early pre-order opening the same day. In addition, Batman: Knightfall Part 1 will be available at a special promotional price through digital retailers, and enjoy the digital release of Bat-Fam. 

Digital Experiences For Fans of All Ages 

The Batman Day lineup continues on DC Kids YouTube with new content for kids of all ages, including a new preschool animated short, “Even, Batman Takes a Bath,” The debut episode of DC minis a new preschool animated shorts series and motion comic-style videos translated from “Batman’s Mystery Casebook” a Middle Grade (ages 8-12) book from DC Books for Young Readers. 

The official DC Comics Twitch and YouTube channels will be hosting a livestream celebrating the release of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight on Nintendo Switch 2. The livestream will feature gameplay with special guests, check-ins from comic book shops around the world, a custom Batman PC giveaway, and a live narration of Absolute Batman #1 broadcast from Revenge Of, a comic bookstore on Eagle Rock Blvd in LA’s Glassel Park, California. 

On Snapchat, fans can celebrate Batman Day through a new Batman partnership featuring a custom Lens launching September 14. The celebration will also bring Batman to Bitmoji Fashion, with new Batman-inspired products allowing fans to bring the Dark Knight’s iconic style to their Bitmoji avatars. 

New Stories and Exclusive Comics 

Those looking to honor the Dark Knight by enjoying the DC comics books where it all started are in for a treat with exclusive new Batman Day releases featuring both Batman and Absolute Batman!  

Launching this Batman Day is Batman of Two Worlds, a special self-contained one-shot comic book published simultaneously worldwide. It will be debut exclusively at participating comic shops, in a format that will never be reprinted. Featuring an all-new Batman story by writer Matt Fraction and artist Javi Fernández, with colors by Tomeu Morey and letters by Clayton Cowles, alongside an all-new Absolute Batman story by writer Scott Snyder and artist Nick Derington, with colors by Frank Martin and letters by Tom Napolitano, the stories in Batman of Two Worlds feature the two Batmen from their respective universes, who are called upon to solve the same mysterious crimes in parallel. 

Batman: Hush 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the acclaimed saga by Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee, brings the mysterious Hush back for a new adventure destined to turn the Dark Knight’s life upside down. With Batman: H2SH Volume One being published day-and-date globally with publishing partners in Argentina (OVNI), Bulgaria (Pro Books), Brazil (Panini), Germany (Panini), Italy (Panini), Poland (Story House Egmont), and Finland (Egmont Kustannus). Additional international releases will include Czech Republic (Crew), and more. 

DC comics will also release new editions of fan-favorite collections available at participating comic book shops including: 

  • A hardcover reprint of Batman Vol. 1: Daylight by Matt Fraction and Jorge Jiménez, with a new cover paying homage to Absolute Batman #1's cover by Nick Dragotta  
  • A hardcover reprint of Batman '89 by Sam Hamm and Joe Quinones, with an exclusive dust jacket with new artwork from the 1989 Batman movie and a code for a digital copy of the movie  
  • A hardcover reprint of Frank Miller's Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, with a new variant cover re-using artwork from the animated adaptations and a code for a digital copy 
  • A hardcover Deluxe Edition of Gargoyle of Gotham – by Rafael Grampa 

Participating comic shops will also offer exclusive Batman-themed masks celebrating the character’s various incarnations. 

The Dark Knight in Gaming  

Leading into Batman Day, the critically acclaimed LEGO® Batman™: Legacy of the Dark Knight videogame will launch for Nintendo Switch™2 on Sept. 18, alongside the release of the new Mayhem Collection downloadable content (DLC) on the same day. The Mayhem Collection adds The Joker and Harley Quinn as playable characters, breaking out of Arkham Asylum in a new story mission, a new Mayhem Mode gameplay experience to cause chaos on the streets of Gotham City, and more – available September 18 for Deluxe Edition owners on PlayStation®5, XBOX Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store).  

Additionally, an enhanced difficulty level, Absolute, will be released as a free update for all LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight owners on September 18, requiring greater skill, awareness, and precision in combat.  

Players can also celebrate the Caped Crusader by unlocking the Golden Age Batsuit, a classic outfit based on by Batman’s debut look from Detective Comics #27 (1939), accessible now for eligible users who create a Warner Bros. Games account and those who already have an account.

Injustice 2 Mobile will celebrate Batman Day from September 15-23 with the Arkham Knight Batman Arena Invasion Event, giving players the opportunity to battle their way to earning Legendary Arkham Knight Batman Hero Shards.  
 
Fans can also claim free rewards from a new 8-Day Batman Login Calendar and a limited time gift available in the store. The login event features Hero Shards for multiple Batman variants including Classic Batman, Knightmare Batman, and Predator Batman, as well as 500 Power Gems. 

DC: Dark Legion will celebrate Batman Day with Echoes of the Batcave, a limited-time event from September 18 - 26 inviting players to join the Bat-Family in exploring the Batcave and earning exclusive rewards such as in-game currencies, special Batman themed frame, and Wayne Tower base skin. In addition to the event, a brand-new champion Robin (Dick Grayson) will be joining the game in late September. 

Additional Batman themed gaming content will be revealed soon, giving players even more ways to celebrate the Caped Crusader! 

Shop The World of Batman 

Fans can bring Gotham City home with new Batman products and collectibles from Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products’ partners, including LEGO, Mattel, MGA, Sideshow, McFarlane Toys, Hallmark, Mad Engine, Bioworld, Bellabu Bear, RSVLTS, Northwest, Trevco, Disguise, Rubies, Jada Toys, Squishmallows, Rudis, Ferris Wheel Press, Filippo Loretta, Manly Bands, New Era and more. Offerings span apparel, sleepwear, toys, collectibles, costumes, home goods and more, with highlights including action figures from Mattel, MGA’s Miniverse Make it Mini Batman mini collectibles, Mad Engine’s men’s and boys’ collection, Bioworld apparel and sleepwear available at Old Navy, Spencer’s and Walmart, blankets from Northwest and Trevco, costumes from Rubies and Disguise, Jada Toys’ Batmobile available at Five Below, and Hot Toys collectibles from Sideshow.

Batman Day will also feature an Amazon Live shopping event, that will take viewers inside a Batman-themed escape room at Escapology, which is celebrating Batman Dall all September long by featuring Batman: The Dark Knight Challenge as its Game of the Month. The livestream will bring the adventure to life in real time while showcasing a curated selection of Batman products, giving fans another way to discover products inspired by The Dark Knight, his legendary Super-Villains and Gotham City. 

Batman Day Around the World 

This is just a glimpse of how fans and families around the world are taking part in the activities of this legendary DC Super Hero. Events and experiences are planned across the U.S., Europe, Asia and Latin America throughout September. 

As part of the Batman Day celebration, Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood invites guests to explore a special Arkham Asylum display spotlighting three distinctive and iconic costumes for The Joker from three different films. The exhibit celebrates the enduring legacy of one of Batman’s greatest foes and offers a closer look at the Super-Villain who has challenged the Dark Knight for decades. 

Across Latin America, Batman Day will unite fans through larger-than-life experiences, retail activations and iconic tributes to the Dark Knight. The Batman Night Run will kick off in Mexico on September 6, with an additional race planned in Brazil on September 19, bringing together thousands of runners for immersive experiences featuring Batman-themed race kits, medals, collectibles and giveaways. Additionally in Brazil, fans can head over to PRAÇA DOS ARCOS - ALAMEDA DAS ARTESwhere the arches become a gateway to music, food trucks and fan activations all in honor of the caped crusader. The Bat-Signal will shine bright in São Paulo's Avenida Paulista, while Villa Lobos Park will host open-air Batman movie screening. Meanwhile, Argentina will host a Batman costume party at Club Serrano, while Chile, Colombia and Peru will feature in-store activations at Panini Point and Akabane Comics showcasing Batman merchandise across apparel, costumes, comic books and more. 

Across Asia-Pacific, Batman Day will come to life through fan experiences and retail activations bringing DC’s iconic Super Hero closer to fans. From pop-up experiences and retail promotions across the region, fans will have new ways to celebrate Batman and the world of DC. 

.In Australia, Oz Comic Con Sydney, September 12–13, will feature a Heroes vs. Villains-themed experience showcasing the iconic 1966 Batmobile, the latest DC and Batman toy collections, interactive activities and photo opportunities. Fans can also discover the first Amazon Australia DC Brand Store, a dedicated destination to explore and shop DC and Batman products. Collectors can also celebrate Batman Day with Agoro's new lineup of exclusive DC collectibles. 

Across Southeast Asia, fans can tune in throughout September with special Batman-themed programming from Teen Titans Go! (TV Knight), Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Batwheels and a selection of Batman movies, including LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League: Attack of the Legion of Doom! The lineup will continue in October with villaintime programming supporting the DC Super-Villains campaign and spotlighting iconic villains from DC and Cartoon Network titles, including The Powerpuff Girls and Ben 10. 

In Indonesia, Indonesia Comic Con, October 3-4, will feature DC collectibles, newly launched Mattel action figures and limited-edition merchandise, including bank cards, T-shirts and gold bars. Fans can also receive an exclusive Absolute Batman #23 variant cover illustrated by an Indonesian artist and available as a gift with purchase at the event. Two local DC comic artists will participate in signing sessions, giving fans an opportunity to connect with DC creative talent. Throughout Batman September, the program will extend to more than 160 retail locations across Indonesia. 

In Japan, a special invite-only nighttime fan event will be held in Tokyo, featuring a screening of Batman (1989). The celebration will continue with a Batman Day pop-up store at Shibuya Tsutaya, opening on September 14. Inspired by this year’s Rule the Night theme, the pop-up will feature fashion, home goods, toys and collectibles, with designs incorporating glow-in-the-dark finishes and elements inspired by Batman’s duality. The collection will also feature collaborations with Japanese artists magma, Home Economics Experiment and Yuichiro Tamaki. 

Extending the celebration, Ground Y, the label from Yohji Yamamoto, will unveil a DC Super-Villains collection planned for launch in October. The apparel and accessories lineup will merge Ground Y’s genderless, all-black aesthetic with artwork inspired by Batman and iconic DC Super-Villains, launching through an Isetan Shinjuku pop-up, Ground Y retail locations and the official online store. 

In China, Batman Day will be celebrated through a series of activations across multiple touchpoints throughout September, beginning with a special Batman film screening on September 12 to kick off the festivities. The headline activation will take place at THE BOX Chaowai in Beijing, one of the city's premier youth culture destinations, through an interactive multi-day celebration honoring the iconic DC Super Hero. From September 19–21, visitors can explore themed installations, get up close with a custom-built LEGO Batmobile, experience the latest LEGO Batman game, attend a special Batman film screening, enjoy themed food and beverages, shop official merchandise, and witness the Bat-Signal light up the Beijing skyline. Extending the celebration throughout the month, a dedicated Batman pop-up store will serve as a hub for fans, featuring licensed products, exclusive photo opportunities and shareable moments.  

Also in China, GIOIA PAN, the signature brand of acclaimed designer Gioia Pan, widely recognized as the “Queen of Knitting,” announced NOCTURNAL TEXTURES, a collection inspired by Batman and his legendary DC Super-Villains. Drawing from the atmosphere of Gotham City, the collection translates iconic DC characters and stories into contemporary luxury fashion and will be unveiled at Shanghai Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027. 

In the UK, Smyths Toys will bring Batman Day to life across all 130 stores and throughout its digital and social channels with a nationwide celebration of Mattel’s new Batman action figures. The Entertainer will be celebrating across all stores with promotions, themed window displays, Batman visits for photo-ops, and in-store events for the launch of the LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight game on Nintendo Switch. Batman will also be visiting Hamleys stores in London on Regent St. and Westfield. DC Shop UK will be joining the festivities with a focus on the Absolute Batman collection, including a limited-edition hoodie. 

In France, fans can join a special Twitch livestream in partnership with Samuel Etienne to celebrate all night long. The livestream will be hosted at the Batman Escape Room in Paris, featuring special guests and prizes. 

Berlin will take center stage as Germany hosts a one-night Batman Day celebration on September 19 that transforms the city into a hub for all things Batman. The exclusive event at ALICE Rooftop & Garden will feature gaming stations, interactive photo experiences, themed food offerings, Batman-themed surprises, and a screening of Batman (1989). 

In Italy, audiences are invited to Rule the Night on September 19 at Milan’s Teatro Alcione, where a special Batman Day screening of the acclaimed animated film Batman: Mask of the Phantasm will celebrate the legacy of the Dark Knight as part of DC’s worldwide festivities. The event will bring fans together for an incredible evening all inspired by Gotham City, featuring themed activities, photo moments, and ample opportunities to celebrate Batman.
