It's been almost 4 years since James Gunn announced "Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters" for the DCU. A lot has changed since that announcement, including the Batman movie, Batman: The Brave and The Bold.

On Threads, a fan asked Gunn "Have the plans for DCU Batman changed creatively in some way since the 2023 announcement of The Brave and the Bold?". To which the co-CEO of DC Studios replied with a simple "Yep."

In that 2023 announced, Gunn had the following to say about Batman: The Brave and The Bold:

The introduction of the DCU's Batman is "The Brave and The Bold". "The Brave and The Bold" is the story of Batman and his actual son, Damian Wayne. This is based on Grant Morrison's great comic book run. Damian Wayne is my favorite Robin. He's a little assassin who Batman tries to get in line and so this is the story of the two of them and the beginning of sort of the Bat Family in the DCU.

Also back in 2023, The Flash director Andy Muschietti was announced as the director of Batman: The Brave and The Bold, with The Flash writer Christina Hodson returning to write it. That's one area where I can see the project may have changed creatively. I would be surprised if Muschietti and Hodson end up making the movie that will eventually hit theaters.

It will be interesting to see how much of that has changed. Let me know what you think could have changed since 2023 in the comments below.
