Today, Paramount CEO David Ellison announced on Twitter/X that the new combined company of Paramount-Warner Bros. will be called "Skydance". Paramount and Warner Bros. will exist as sub-brands under that parent company. The deal is expected to close next week on Tuesday, October 6th.
Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav is not expected to join the new company, which means James Gunn and Peter Safran at DC Studios will have a new boss. Warner Bros. co-CEOs Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy are also out. DC Studios relies on Warner Bros. resources so it'll be interesting to see what changes this all brings.
For now, you can watch the trailer that Skydance released highlight the combined company below.

Dang, I hope WB will still be there just like 20th Century with Disney. As much as it is a crappy company right now, I'd hate to see a big old studio like that disappear completely
jrvc yeah this isn't great for the industry. I expected changes to hit WB and DC in the coming months/year...
Chris that for sure, and with Gunn not getting his contract not extended I pressume a big change is coming
jrvc yep I think his future depends on Man of Tomorrow, but if Clayface bombs like Supergirl we could see changes even sooner
"Skydance" was also the name of the native girl in Ayacucho, from whom I purchased some hallucinogenic snuff. Shortly thereafter, she'd adorn herself with menstrual blood and eagle feathers and attempt to carve out my liver for the local Shaman. Better luck to Paramount!
